10 WTF Moments From Japan's Most Insane Reality Show

3. One Year Later

It had been a full year since Nasubi was locked away in his contest prison before something amazing happened. He won a pack of toilet paper. Imagine going a full year without wiping after using the bathroom, then follow that up with the fact that you were naked on live TV. While Nasubi certainly went through many highs and lows over the year, his reaction to winning a roll of toilet paper was enough to make you realize that he was absolutely living in a terrible situation. Only eating when food came in, sleeping on the floor in the nude, having no way to keep up on his hygiene and never contacting anyone in the outside world for a full year could change a person, but at last, it was finally official. He had reached his goal of ten thousand dollars worth of prizes. Only, Nasubi didn't know that. He simply continued on with his routine of entering contests. Late in the night however, the producer entered his room once again, only this time he came in while setting off party crackers to announce Nasubi's goal had been reached, terrifying the poor naked man. After his confusion died down and he learned the truth, he burst with excitement, raising his arms in the air in triumph. He was given his clothes back and blindfolded once again, as the producers had some surprise gifts for him. Over the last year he had written a diary of all his wants, desires and thoughts. The producers had secretly been reading through it while he slept to get an idea of everything he longed for, and then proceeded to give it to him. Starting off with an extravagant ramen dinner, they then blindfolded him and took him to an amusement park to enjoy the first bit of fresh air he had received since he was removed from his first prize room. After the festivities there had ended, he was flown to Korea for free to eat his favorite food in it's country of origin. Nasubi was absolutely ecstatic as they blindfolded him again and brought him to another new place. A single small room that looked identical to his room in Japan. He was then told to take his clothes off.

Any time I'm not writing, I'm likely arguing about children's cartoons with strangers on the internet or staring at my ceiling and wondering where it all went wrong.
