9. Family Guy
Is there a more re-watchable show than Seth MacFarlanes Family Guy? Friends, perhaps, but if it's a real belly laugh rather than a warm fuzzy one you are after, then the animated sit-com wins every time. Netflix US is pretty up to date with its Family Guy, with the first 12 seasons available to American viewers, yet UK customers dont even get the Cleveland Show to make do with. While MacFarlanes show is now considered a classic sit-com (among animated and live-action shows alike) with Primetime Emmys and Annie Awards to its name, it wasnt plain sailing for the Griffins when they first appeared on Americas screens. In fact, the show was cancelled by Fox in 2002 with one episode of season 3 left unaired. Luckily, Adult Swim picked up the show, and ratings of their re-runs combined with shockingly high DVD sales lead to Fox eating some humble pie and renewing. The show is now into its fourteenth season and going strong, though Fox werent the only ones who could have stopped Family Guy in its tracks creator MacFarlane was very nearly aboard American Airlines Flight 11 flying from Boston on the morning of September 11, 2001. Suffering from a hangover after returning to the Rhode Island School of Design for a speech, MacFarlane missed the flight and watched the breaking news in horror as his hijacked plane was flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board.
