11 Biggest Problems With The Chris Chibnall Doctor Who Era

7. No Imagination

There's a real sense that the show has run out of ideas at this point, and the last two seasons have offered very, very little in the way of compelling science-fiction concepts. There's none of the wackiness that is associated with Doctor Who anymore, and most of Series 12 took place on Earth- even though the exploration of the outer reaches of space is one Doctor's Who's USPs, and has been since its inception.

Perhaps the biggest show of the lack of imagination in recent Doctor Who has been the same reveal being used in not one, two, but in three consecutive episodes (Arachnids in the UK, The Tsuranga Conundrum and Demons of the Punjab) that the apparent monsters were actually harmless.

Right now, Doctor Who really feels like it's running on fumes.
