8. The Timeless Child Reveal Was Garbage
It was nice to see Series 12 getting an actual arc, the lack of which had hampered Series 11. Unfortunately, this was the worst arc of NuWho.
The Master reveals to The Doctor that the Time Lord's abilities to regenerate were taken from a 'Timeless Child', who was adopted by a Gallifrey native and cruelly experimented on. The child regenerated many times as a result. This was actually kind-of a good idea that added further moral ambiguity to The Doctor's species, but then it's revealed that the Timeless Child is actually The Doctor herself.
Wait What?!
This plot twist is completely awful in two ways. Firstly, it annihilates the Doctor Who canon and completely breaks everything that has been established over more than fifty years of the show (although those who aren't committed fans will care about this less in fairness) and secondly, it goes against The Doctor's character arc by making them a god-like 'chosen one' instead of the down-to-earth, every-man figure- who was special through their good deeds, not because of what they were.
Hopefully this will never be referred to again. Then, we can all pretend that this never happened far more easily.
