10. Clint Eastwood

The episode: 'Last Exit To Springfield' The role: Clint Eastwood as Dr. Wolfe Dr Wolfe was the no nonsense, lie detecting dentist who creates a monster when fitting Lisa with pre-stainless steel braces. Both Clint Eastwood and Anthony Hopkins were asked to voice the role, presumably to bring some sinister intensity to the character, but both declined. Psycho's Anthony Perkins then stepped in but withdrew later when he fell ill before, finally, Hank Azaria voiced the character for the finished episode. Eastwood eventually did appear as a character in one episode though, though he didn't actually lend his voice to the show on that occasion either. Instead, the man of a thousand voices, Hank Azaria stepped in again singing the "Gonna Paint Our Wagon" song while portraying Dirty Harry's more musical side.
