11 Grim TV Moments You Won't Watch Again
4. Sedullus - Spartacus
We've actively tried to avoid moments from shows put in for shock-value. That's another list, and it's a little cheap. But the outright, unsparing gruesomeness of Sedullus is hard to ignore.
We're barely introduced to the Germanic slave before he gets rape-y. From there, despite being rescued from a Roman ship by the titular hero, his jealously rears its beefy head and he tries to lead the slave revolt. Despite a violent attempt, slicing and hacking away at anyone who defies him, he's quickly done away with with a single upswing of Spartacus' blade.
It's almost comical as his corpse stands still, until the front of his face slides to the dirt in silence, exposing the inside of his head. From then on, there was little question who was in charge.
What followed was a show loaded with gore, graphic nudity and plenty of exploitation - a poor/guilty man's Game of Thrones, but still a load of fun.
