11 Iconic TV Shows That Should NEVER Be Revived

7. Arrested Development

Unlike some of the entries on this list, Arrested Development has already enjoyed a revival after originally being cancelled. Two, in fact.

Sadly, they only confirmed that some things are better left dead.

Netflix revived the cult sitcom in 2013 for a full fourth season, but it wasn't quite the comeback everyone expected. For one, the filmmakers couldn't get the ensemble cast together at the same time, so the episodes often broke up the core Bluth family to focus on a sole member.

It could have worked in theory, but part of the charm of the original was how this dysfunctional family bounced off each other, and splitting them up only made you pine for the scenes where it actually felt like the old show.

The filmmakers took this criticism on board and returned five years later with a follow up which attempted to right those wrongs. Unfortunately, all those episodes did was confirm that it was more than just the structure that removed the magic of the original three seasons.

The Netflix episodes aren't outright bad, but it was clearly a struggle to get them made. And if fans are going to have to wait half a decade for a new batch of mediocre episodes, it might be better just calling it quits.
