11 Major Things To Expect From Fortitude Season 2
4. More Gentle Character Development
The biggest problem facing the show's first season was balance. Because there were a lot of characters, and a somewhat contradictory desire to focus more on Stanley Tucci and Richard Dormer's excellent performances, some character development was brushed aside entirely.
Characters who could have been interesting - like Frank and Jules - were hamstrung by too little development and not enough slow building.
But now that a lot of character arcs have been sliced to an abrupt end - no disrespect to the dead - the show should be able to follow in Broadchurch's footsteps and offer more focus to the core characters. Even if they introduce more odd-ball elements and new characters, that simply must happen to make them all a little more well-rounded and three dimensional.
