3. A Further Look Into Dan's Past
It seems likely that Dan will be forced more into himself in the second season having been made to shoot Elena and effectively destroy the one relationship that has most defined him. He's a man apart.
And though some of his secrets have already been revealed - in terms of Billy Pettigrew - there is something haunted about him that suggests there is more to come.
With the revelation that Henry Tyson was in fact his father, there may be some opportunity to turn the show's gaze backwards to Dan's past to shake the dust off his even older ghosts. And if it turns out that he starts to lose his way (and his mind), that would add a compelling extra element to that particular character arc.
