This whole scene was very difficult to watch. In season one, Norma is alone in the house by herself when Keith Summers, the guy who was harassing them earlier in the episode breaks into the house, attacks Norma and rapes her. He handcuffs her to the table and despite trying to defend herself with a knife, he overpowers her. Norman walks in whilst Keith is raping Norma and she then does what any person would want to do in that situation; she kills him. But she doesn't stop there, she stabs him repeatedly, thus revealing her emotional imbalance and showing that she gives in to her desires, not logic.
