11 Netflix Marvel Performances The MCU Needs To Save
1. Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio)
Even though Daredevil remained the best of the bunch on Netflix, it still seemed a bit of a small box for Vincent D'Onofrio's staggering performance as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
Imagine Thanos as a disgruntled human, and you've pretty much got the gist. He strove to make the world better, he would achieve his goals at all costs. The shier he grew, the scarier he seemed to become. Each of his moments exuded fierce human complexity, the likes of which has rarely been touched on in any screen adaptation of a comic book villain. Even if every other Netflix Marvel component remains as dust, and it shouldn't, this is one thing that cannot and must not.
Okay, let's talk Spiderman. Kingpin was the capital thug of New York. His runnings with Peter Parker are legendary. Tom Holland and Vincent D'Onofrio on screen, squaring off? Why not?
If not that, then something else, because this character performance simply must not die. There will never be a portrayal of Kingpin as intricate and groundbreaking as this one, and that's that.
Phase Four, take note: Bring back D'Onofrio's Kingpin, and give him a big screen budget to sink his teeth into! Fans won't stop nagging until it happens.
