Yet, the chaps on Big Bang Theory seem to have a neurotic obsession with where characters went to college and who does or doesn't have a PhD.

Penny only starts getting taken seriously when she osmotically absorbs some of the dudes' brainpower, despite the fact that she is by far the most well-adjusted person on show at least 90% of the time.
