Another frightening real life event that was unfortunately connected to the show, actress Shannon Richardson attempted to assassinate then-President Barack Obama.

The actress appeared on The Walking Dead in minor roles a few times, and was arrested back in 2013 after sending ricin-laced envelopes to Obama and then-NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

She eventually pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. It's another one that isn't at all the fault of The Walking Dead nor AMC, but given her time on the show, their name was dragged into the reporting of the case, giving them some seriously unwanted attention.
