11 Times Doctor Who Stupidly Spoiled Its Own Secrets

2. Doctor Who's Long Awaited Comeback Episode Was Leaked By A BBC Employee

The Secret: Just over a decade ago, the revived series of Doctor Who was nothing more than a hopeful glimmer in the BBC's eye and it felt like the whole world was eagerly awaiting the grand comeback of the nation's favourite Time Lord. It was on track to become one of the biggest moments in British TV history and Saturday 26th March 2005 couldn't come soon enough, especially for one particularly eager employee who decided to take matters into their own hands... How It Was Spoiled: ...by leaking the entire first episode, Rose, online. Seriously. It was a rough cut of the premiere, with no special effects and opening titles with the old theme tune, but a watchable cut of it nonetheless. It appeared online overnight and by the following morning this shocking display of BBC conspiracy had made front page news across the country. But just who had been responsible for the leak, you ask? Well, their identity has never been revealed, but rest assured that their contract with the BBC was promptly exterminated. That's what you get for being impatient. And, you know, breaking copyright law.
