The Secret:Just when you think you're finally getting your head around Doctor Who's ever evolving mythology, Steven Moffat decides to throw an almighty spanner in the works. Such was the case in the climactic final moments of the Series 7 finale, The Name of the Doctor, when none other than Sir John Hurt was revealed as a secret incarnation of the Doctor. And thus the stratosphere of the show's fandom was well and truly ripped apart. At least, if you hadn't already read about it on the Internet... How It Was Spoiled: Through a complete and unadulterated cock up, that's how. There's actually no feasible explanation for this happening, other than the fact that the people involved are unbelievably stupid. Fans in the US who had pre-ordered their copies of the Series 7 boxset - due out the Monday after the highly anticipated finale - received their copies the day before its global premiere, meaning they had all of its secrets, plus the momentous 50th anniversary twist, quite literally at their fingertips.
