The Lone Gunmen was a spinoff of the hugely successful X-Files series. Though it was short-lived, with only 13 episodes ever made, the series has since become known for making one of the most disturbingly accurate predictions of any television show. In the pilot episode, it's revealed that the American government is planning to remotely fly a commercial airliner into the World Trade Center, in order to raise the defense budget.
