4. 'The Simpsons' Predicts The Shape Of The Universe
The Simpsons does it again! This time, it's not so much an event as a scientific discovery. During one episode, guest star Stephen Hawking mentions to Homer that, "Your idea of a doughnut-shaped universe intrigues me, I may have to steal it." Funnily enough, NASA announced 13 years later that they are "99.6 percent certain" that the universe is both round and flat. This is covered in the three-torus model of the universe, which is informally known as the "doughnut theory of the universe." Turns out Homer is far more intellectual than he's given credit for.
