On the United States' Election Day 2012, a Pennsylvanian voting machine was taken out of service after it was filmed changing a vote for Barack Obama to Mitt Romney. Though several online commentators suggested foul play, the machine was reported as being recalibrated and returned to service. Back in 2008, The Simpsons made a remarkably accurate prediction that almost perfectly mirrored the real-life event. A touch-screen voting machine is shown as changing any votes for Barack Obama to John McCain, again showing the Republicans 'stealing' votes from the Democrats.
