12 Doctor Who Actors Who Died In 2023

11. Richard Kane

Doctor Who Valmar
BBC Studios

Richard Kane appeared in the 1966 serial The Power Of The Daleks as Valmar, an engineer who became embroiled in a plot to use a Dalek to help his fellow engineers, and his love interest Janley, achieve better working conditions. The Dalek being a Dalek, one can imagine how that went. Thankfully, the Second Doctor was on hand to set things right.

Kane had a long and busy career both in front of the camera and on stage. His IMDB credits show dozens of theatrical works, with Shakespeare's plays making several appearances, though he was by no means limited to one style of theatre.

One of his largest successes in terms of the notoriety of the piece was his appearance in Richard Attenborough's A Bridge Too Far in 1977. He played Colonel Weaver.

He died in February 2023, at 84 years of age.
