Eve Pearce played Estelle Cole, a woman who knew Captain Jack Harkness during World War II. They met again years later, though Cole believed Jack to be the son of the man she had loved. Unfortunately, Estelle was killed by Fairies - evil creatures that she had long believed to be benevolent, devastating Jack.

Pearce was a published poet, with her first pamphlet Woman In Winter released in 2007. This was followed by Capturing Snowflakes in 2012, and a CD Left Tae' Tell The Tale. She would also volunteer with the Interact Reading Service to read to stroke victims as they recuperated in the hospital.

She died in April 2023, at 95 years of age.
