12 Actors Who Screwed Up Their Big TV Chances By Getting Fired

2. Janet Hubert-Whitten - The Fresh-Prince Of Bel-Air

When The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air returned for its fourth season in 1993, viewers were surprised to find a new actress playing Aunt Vivian. In fact, Janet Hubert-Whitten, the original Aunt Vivian, had been fired from the show. Hubert-Whitten told TMZ in 2011 that Will Smith was responsible for her being fired. She claimed that Smith was immature and had not grown up, and subsequently Smith had her fired because she wouldn't "kiss his butt." She claimed that his immature attitude lead to on-set altercations and eventually to Smith ordering her to be fired. Smith, on the other hand, claimed that Hubert-Whitten was fired because she had a bad attitude. Though some speculated that Hubert-Whitten's unexpected pregnancy during the third season, which forced writers to script a pregnancy on the show, played a factor in her getting fired, Smith said that he and Hubert-Whitten had trouble working together long before she became pregnant. Whoever was at fault, Smith and Hubert-Whitten have not worked out their differences to this day, and, prior to the death of former co-star James Avery, Hubert-Whitten was the hold-out that prevented a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion.
