12 Actors Who Want To Return To Doctor Who

Whenever the subject of abandoned Doctor Who plot threads is raised, one that almost always gets brought up is the fate of Jenny, the Doctor's daughter.

Though RTD and Steven Moffat have jokingly revealed that she flew into a moon and died, we don't know what she's been up to since her last onscreen appearance 14 years ago. Actress Georgia Tennant - David's wife - was never asked to return to the show, but to this day, she continues to hold out hope that the call might arrive.

In a recent chat with Metro, Tennant stated that she would "obviously" return to the show if asked, even adding that she has a storyline in mind:

"I like the idea that she’s sort of gone off and had a couple of kids and she’s let herself go a bit, and she’s enjoying her life and then someone comes back and goes, 'No come on, you’ve got to go back to work.'"

Considering that the Doctor believes Jenny to be dead, there's quite a lot of dramatic potential in reuniting the two characters onscreen, and if the Fourteenth Doctor is a woman, it would be fascinating to see how Jenny responds to her father's new look.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
