12 Awesome TV Shows You Can Only Watch Once

2. True Blood

A much needed respite from the brutal cop dramas, True Blood was the ultimate guilty pleasure show that actually turned into a quality offering at times during its run. The vampire-centric drama started as a rather obvious metaphor for gay rights, and then evolved into a legitimately fun look at the lives of vampires.

The sex and blood filled drama garnered a passionate fan base, as the portrayal of vampires was slightly more edgy than what had come before in shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer (no disrespect to Ms. Summers intended). Fans went along for the wild ride and looked forward to a bloody finale to the show.

Unfortunately, like too many other shows on this list, True Blood failed to end satisfyingly. After making a mark with its crazy and over-the-top content, it ended in a disappointingly subdued manner, failing horribly to recapture the show€™s sense of fun. Fans were not necessarily livid at the finale in the vein of Dexter fans, but they were simply left wanting more.

True Blood was a blood-soaked blast while it aired, but it isn€™'t worth the time investment for a second go.
