7. The Once And Future Thing
An enjoyable, time-travelling romp, this two-parter (which was somewhat atypical to the format of the Unlimited series), sees Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern chasing down a time-travelling inventor, David, who attempts to steal one of Batman's utility belts in the Watchtower.
In the first half, the trio is accidentally transported to an old Western town, in which they meet some DC characters created for the setting, such as Jonah Hex, El Diablo, and Ohiyesa Smith, and the group joins together to take down a villain who uses David's time travel device to ape technology from the future, in order to control the past.
The second half sees David use time travel to rule the future, playing with time on a whim, eventually causing large-scale anomalies. This episode sees the Leaguers meet future heroes such as Terry McGinnis's Batman, and Warhawk, son of John Stewart and Shayera. They also get to meet an elder version of the DCAU's Static, as well as Batman Beyond's aged Bruce Wayne.
An indulgent, compelling, and fun adventure, this set of episodes remains one of the most memorable in the series for fans of not only the series, but of the entire DCAU.
