9. Tremors

Based on the enduringly popular movie series of the same name, the horror comedy sci-fi action series Tremors debuted in 2003 to huge ratings for its home on the Sci-Fi Channel. However, this success was short-lived and critics had little love for the small screen creature feature.

Set in Perfection, a small desert town beseiged by subterranean man-eaters, the Tremors series picked up the plot left off by the then-recent third instalment of the film series, following the irascible Burt as he attempts to eradicate the scourge through all manner of artillery.

The original flick’s central star Kevin Bacon signed on to return for a much-anticipated reboot in 2017, but despite a killer trailer he sadly informed fans that the network passed the next year. This fun, silly show may not be as beloved as the film series, but it’s definitely worth a watch for anyone mourning what could have been.
