12 Dumb Decisions In Friends We Can't Forgive

5. What Happened To Phoebe's Parents?

Phoebe's past, and her relationship with her parents, were key to building her entire personality and character. Her dad left when she and Ursula were young, and her mom killed herself, leaving Phoebe to live on the streets for much of her youth.

However, later in her life she was able to reconnect with both her father, Frank, and her biological mother, also called Phoebe. After the death of her grandmother, she met Frank for the first time as an adult at the funeral. This was a huge moment in Phoebe's life, as it was something she had wanted for years.

Though she had only known about her birth mom a short time before meeting her, this was no less of an incredible point in her life. All Phoebe had ever wanted was parents, and in the third and fourth seasons, she finally found them.

Frank Buffay however, was never seen or heard from again after his meeting with his daughter in season three. Phoebe Abbott was seen in three episodes, but was never featured again after giving her daughter advice on whether or not she should be Frank Jr's surrogate in season four. It's tough to understand how these two people incredibly important to Phoebe could just disappear from her life without a trace or even a mention.
