2. The Walking Dead - The Governor Kills Hershel

If you read the comic books before watching the smash hit AMC show, you knew this was coming for a while. In fact, you knew that this was long overdue. For the rest of us who spent our Sunday night screaming at AMC on our television after Breaking Bad had ended, you were obviously surprised to see a moment of self doubt for the Governor as Rick pleads for the lives of Hershel and Michonne, held hostage in exchange for the prison and all its supplies. Suddenly, all of that was for naught and the Governor takes Michonne's sword to Hershel's throat, brutally decapitating the wise old veterinarian. Of course, after that a bloody battle ensues between our heroes and the Governor's new friends, and while casualties are high for the Governor's people and he himself takes a revenge stab to the back by Michonne and a bullet to the head from his girlfriend to keep him from turning, the prison is lost and the final shot of the midseason is of Carl hoisting his beaten and battered father away from the burning prison.
