12 Emotional TV Moments That Made Us All Cry In 2013

3. Glee - Finn's Death / Cory Tribute

Nothing could possibly have prepared Ryan Murphy and the cast of Glee for what was to come this season. This wasn't an issue of a dispute in Cory Monteith's contract or his wanting to moving onto better projects. Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room in July at the age of 31, leaving the show with a massive hole and even bigger holes in the hearts of his cast mates. Even though the signs were there that something was wrong, nothing could possibly have prepared them to lose him and pay tribute to him the way that they did, and it was handled beautifully. Without even mentioning how Finn died (thank God), the season's third episode "The Quarterback" pays tribute to their fallen friend beautifully, and the most heart wrenching part about it is that the tears are completely genuine. With Puck covering Springsteen's "No Surrender," Rachel covering Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love," the ensemble covering Rent's "Seasons of Love" at Finn's funeral, Santana covering The Band Perry's "If I Die Young," and Mercedes covering Rod Stewart's "I'll Stand By You," it was arguably one of the most beautiful hours of television all year.
