Carrie creator/ monarch of horror writing Stephen King is enjoying a recent revival in popularity thanks to a string of successful TV miniseries based on some of the prolific author's many many titles.

But before there was The Outsider, Mr Mercedes, or even Castle Rock (the miniseries made of all his unadapted stories), there was the underrated nineties TV adaptation The Langoliers, an agreeably weird slice of sci-fi mystery which combined character drama with trippy time travel to great effect.

Benefitting from some strange early CGI to realize its titular beasties and a hilariously over-the-top turn from sitcom stalwart Bronson Pinchot, this miniseries tells the story of a flight which seems to fall out of time itself mid-flight, and the strange happenings which follow on from this enigmatic event.
