12 Insane Things You Didn't Know About The Walking Dead
5. Norman Reedus Got Quite A Pay Rise
It's easy to see why Reedus is paid so much for this show. He's an integral piece of the puzzle, and a marketing dream. Hell, the guy's crossbow was once sold in Walmart, so you know everyone wants a piece of him. But Reedus wasn't always making the big bucks.
During the show's infancy, the former Boondock Saints star would earn under $10,000 per episode. While that's certainly nothing to scoff at, it's not the kind of bankable income to retire on and is considered low by cable TV industry standards. Luckily for Reedus, as he grew in popularity, so did his wallet.
By the time the seventh season came along, Reedus was earning roughly $80,000 per episode, a pay rise that reflected not just his rise to stardom but the success of the show. Still, it was his promotion to series protagonist (after the departure of Andrew Lincoln) that really set him up.
As of now, Reedus is getting $1 million per episode, which is certainly enough to let Daryl live a long healthy life after the series is done.
