9. Michael Gambon - Fortitude
You know him from: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009), Gosford Park (2001), Sleepy Hollow (1999) Veteran Brit Michael Gambon has worked in theatre, television, film, and radio, and is highly respected across all fields. His first professional role was on the stage in 1962, playing the part of Second Gentleman in a Gate Theatre Dublin production of Othello. Modern movie going audiences will undoubtedly know him better as witty wizard Albus Dumbledore in the last six Harry Potter films, cast to replace the late Richard Harris from the first two films. Gambon is teaming up with a interesting cast including Stanley Tucci, Richard Dormer, Christopher Ecclestone and Sofie Gråbøl for Sky Atlantic's murder mystery thriller Fortitude. Filmed in Iceland and set in a small town in the remote and savagely beautiful Artic landscape, Fortitude is the safest town on earth until the abrupt murder of a research scientist unsettles the close-knit community and threatens the future of the town itself. Gambon plays a character by the name of Henry Tyson, although his role in the series is unclear beyond that.
