7. Meeting The Curator (The Day Of The Doctor)
Speaking of blasts from the past, here's one that a lot of us won't be forgetting any time soon! Doctor Who marked its 50th anniversary in November 2013 and fans had spent the whole year eagerly awaiting The Day of the Doctor which served as the coveted centrepiece of the show's far reaching festivities. The feature-length extravaganza was full of its fair share of shocks and surprises and perhaps the greatest one of them all was this mesmerising moment in which Tom Baker made an unannounced appearance and the worlds of Classic and NuWho collided in a way that had never been seen before. Although the true identity of Tom's character remains a mystery, it was suggested that he was a future incarnation of the Doctor who "revisits" one of his old favourite faces. It was basically bad ass on so many levels. There's no need to explain why it's one of the decade's defining moments, either, since the sight of the Eleventh Doctor sharing the screen with the man who is widely cited as the most iconic incarnation of all time was enough to melt the Whovian hearts of the millions of fans, both young and old, who were watching the drama unfold at home and in the cinema. It reeks of nostalgia, too, for those who grew up with the Fourth Doctor, and what's the point of being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes? All hail the Curator!
