12 Most Anxiety-Inducing Sci-Fi TV Shows EVER
8. Utopia
Managing to rack up a record number of content complaints from Channel 4 viewers (bare in mind, these are the hardy bunch who laughed at the Prime Minister having a romantic rendezvous with a pig long before it became reality), it's fair to say the sci-fi conspiracy thriller Utopia made an impression on arrival.
Attracting the interest of The Social Network director David Fincher who intended to remake it for US audiences via a script from Gone Girl's Gillian Flynn, this impressively hard edged offering may have been one of genre TV's best offerings in years, but be warned.
As one early scene involving nigh-on unwatchable assault makes clear, this bleak and unremittingly dark show is definitively not for the faint of heart.
