12 Most Depressing BoJack Horseman Moments Ever
9. The Loneliest Feeling In The World
As a series, BoJack Horseman tackled so many personal and mental issues, from depression and anxiety, to alcoholism, drug abuse, and so much more. One thing that BoJack himself fought a constant struggle with was loneliness.
He didn’t know how much he needed Todd until he thought about the prospect of not having him around, his only real romantic relationship ended when Wanda walked out on him, and even critical acclaim in the movie industry couldn’t make him feel any better.
BoJack tried to keep his emotions bottled up for the most part, but after almost ruining Taneisha and Karen’s wedding in the wake of his Secretariat fame, he poured his heart out to the bride-to-be who was getting cold feet. To paraphrase, if you find someone you just halfway tolerate, don’t let them go, as they are your best chance to stave off the crippling feeling of loneliness. It's better to settle than to be alone.
Without someone there with you, nothing will fill the hole inside of you. At that moment in time, everyone loved BoJack for his newfound fame in the movie world, but nobody actually liked him. Despite the parties, the money, and the attention, that was the loneliest feeling in the world.
