12 Most Depressing BoJack Horseman Moments Ever

8. That Voice In Your Head

When Hollyhock was introduced to show properly in season four, she brought with her a new dynamic to be explored. Next to the self-destruction and sabotage of BoJack, the series gave an insight into the insecurities of the mind of a 17-year-old.

She had spent a few days getting to know Miles, an intern on BoJack’s new show, but paired with his ghosting of her, and the bikini-clad women she was constantly forced to see in L.A, her confidence was at an all-time low. She felt like a blob.

Sitting around the pool, she asked BoJack if the voice in her head that was telling her that everyone hated her, and that they were right to think that way, and that she was stupid and ugly would go away. It’s just a teenage girl thing that you grow out of, right?

BoJack reassured her that it does, but the only problem is that the entire episode had shown that very voice inside his own head calling him a piece of sh*t all day. That voice never goes away for some people, it’s always there unless you can find a way to quiet it. Even then, it’s never silent.
