Surely this is the greatest Whovian problem of them all? You finally learn to accept the latest Doctor (it can be a lot harder than it should be!) and then, before you know it, he's disappearing in an explosion of fire and you have to get used to a brand new one instead. God damn it. It's even worse if the Doctor you're losing happens to be 'your' Doctor (that is, the first Doctor you watched/fell in love with) and the process of an another actor taking over the reigns as the universe's coveted defender is generally a traumatic experience for everyone concerned. You'll get there one day, though, and when you do you'll wonder why it took you so long to move on in the first place. After all, Doctor Who is all about change and regeneration is another part of its winning and far reaching formula. Every time a new Doctor comes along, it revitalises the show and makes it feel as exciting and new as it was way back when on that cold November night back in 1963. And as much as it hurts at the time (and for a little while afterwards), Doctor Who fans wouldn't have it any other way. What did you think of this list? Are there any other problems that only Doctor Who fans will understand? Join the conversation in the comments section below.
