11. The Best Thing That Ever Happened - S3E9
BoJack Horseman has always been a protagonist that we find ourselves sticking with despite the fact that he is very clearly a piece of sh*t, and a self-proclaimed one at that. Princess Carolyn also stood by BoJack for 23 years, but their working relationship finally broke down towards the end of season three.
After she started her own agency, naturally there were teething problems, and Princess Carolyn dropped the ball a few times for the first time in 23 years. Instead of BoJack sticking with her like she has done for his entire career, he immediately fired her, with absolutely no regard for everything she has ever done for him.
In 'The Best Thing That Ever Happened', BoJack and Princess Carolyn came to blows and blew up their entire friendship. She did everything for him, and got him jobs despite his infamous vices, yet he always managed to let her down.
The saddest thing about this episode, with no hilarious Todd adventure to offset the emotion, is the realisation of just how badly BoJack has treated his friend over their time together. Even after their heart to heart, after she showed how much she loved him, and after begging for more time to get her firm on its feet, he still cold-heartedly fired her.
