12 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

1. Cameos. So Many Cameos.

Like with many sitcoms, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has had a plentiful supply of celebrity cameos and appearances over the years. Some of the easier to spot ones include Keegan Michael Key as the gameshow host in The Gang Goes on Family Fight and P-Diddy as the bass playing Dr Jinx in Charlie’s Mom Has Cancer.

Other noticeable appearances come from Tom Sizemore, Sinbad, Rob Thomas, Dax Shepard and Kings of Leon, to name a few.

There are, however, a couple of really sneaky ones that there’s no way you picked up on the first time around. Firstly, during A Very Sunny Christmas, Charlie’s mom is visited by various “clients” dressed as Santa. (The less you know about what they were doing, the better.) One of these patrons was Doc Brown himself, Christopher Lloyd. Great Scott!

The other blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance comes from legendary director Guillermo Del Torro. After letting slip that he was a huge fan of the show to Charlie Day while they were working on Pacific Rim, Day managed to convince him to take on the role of Pappy McPoyle in The Maureen Ponderosa Wedding Massacre.

With the show still running, there’s plenty potential for more appearances. Is anybody else hoping for a Dennis Reynolds and Barney Stinson crossover episode?
