The Walking Dead Season 3
AMC

We all remember what it was like starting The Walking Dead. It was a wave of apprehension and wonder. What was it going to be like putting the comics to the screen? In the series premier, director and original showrunner Frank Darabont put our worries at ease with a shocking death; that of the little girl at the gas station who Rick tries to help but is then forced to kill. From there, we all knew exactly what kind of show it would be: risk taking, harsh and real.

The little girl is question was later revealed to be called Summer. She was the first walker seen on the screen, and she was played by Addy Miller. The fun thing about Addy Miller, aside from the fact that she has become so iconic in Walking Dead lore, is the fact that she came back.

When The Walking Dead reached its 100th episode during Season Eight, Addy Miller returned to cameo as another walker. Sporting a dressing gown and some slippers, she can be seen in the episode "Mercy" at the gas station where Rick and Carl first come across Siddiq. It's blink-and-you'll-miss-it, but still a clever nod by the producers to the roots of the show and a clever way to celebrate its long run.
