12 Terrible TV Shows That Should Definitely Be Cancelled In 2014

10. Pretty Little Liars

You're unlikely to be watching this ABC Family mystery show, so here's a quick summary: a year after the murder of their best friend, four teenage girls are stalked by a villain known only as A. Sound simple? In fact, Pretty Little Liars is perhaps the best example of a show flying by the seat of its pants, because it becomes very obvious in the second season that the writers have no long-term plan except to drag the whole thing out as long as possible. The series has transformed from a mere TV show into a kind of fascinatingly terrible viewing experience. Every character, including the girls themselves, has been marked as A at one point or another. Murder is a weekly occurrence and the police are more concerned about their secret role in harassing teenagers than solving any crimes. Everyone hallucinates all the time and everyone is blackmailing everyone else. Pretty Little Liars needs the finality of cancellation, purely to see whether it can wrap things up and also cope with its own labyrinth-like continuity. The viewers definitely can't.
