3. Bojack Is Henrietta?
Alzheimer's appears in season four of Bojack Horseman, greatly impacting Bojack's mom, who progressed so deeply that she sees Bojack as one of her old maids Henrietta. It turns out this maid is actually the woman who gave birth to Hollyhock and who was greatly affected by Beatrice taking her away to give her a chance to have her own life.
While the revelations that came from finding out who Henrietta was seemed to wrap up the mystery of Hollyhock, it never seems clear why Bojack was viewed as this maid to begin with. Even in the episode dedicated to showing his mom reliving her life inside a dementia filled mind, the episode never clarifies why Bojack and Henrietta share the same spot in her mind.
Perhaps that is just to show how much Alzheimers can change someone, even the people closest to you, and the mystery of why Bojack was unrecognizable to his own mother could be explained away in an in-depth discussion, yet the show on its surface does not engage in that conversation.
