As said before, for the first few episodes of the entire series, BoJack didn't see Diane as a particularly damaged person. Throughout the next six seasons however, we learn that she struggles with mental health issues on a daily basis. It wasn't until season five that she started to do something about it.

While working on Philbert with BoJack, Diane began seeing a therapist - a rare positive step forward in her life that actually benefitted her. It gave her a release while she was struggling to come to terms with the recording of BoJack talking about Penny, while he himself was trying to get all the attention he could after the death of his mom.

Advised by her therapist that she needed space from BoJack, her friend simply wouldn't accept it. Instead of respecting his friend's boundaries and needs, he drove to Dr. Indira's office to confront the therapist, and ended up seeing her as his 'new best friend'.

Diane made it painfully clear to BoJack that she needed Dr. Indira to be just hers, a place where she could escape BoJack, but he simply refused to respect her or her therapy enough to listen. After Diane conceded, letting her friend be the one to keep Dr. Indira, he suddenly decided to stop seeing her. Whether it was out of jealousy, stupidity, or just plain spite, BoJack ruined the one good thing in Diane's life, and completely downplayed her mental health issues as if they were nothing.
