4. Marge Buying Bart's Soul Back

Episode: Season 7 - "Bart Sells His Soul" Lisa might be the "soul" of the show, but it's Bart's soul that became a central matter - and a matter of commerce - in the show's seventh season. In it, Bart sells his soul to Milhouse, not fulling believing in the reality of a soul, only to find that without this intangible, he seems empty. It's not just a feeling, either: automatic doors no longer open for him, and he doesn't have the ability to fog up a window exhaling any longer. That sort of physical evidences scares Bart, so he immediately goes to find Milhouse to buy it back, only to find that Milhouse has sold it. Bart then tracks it down to the Android's Dungeon and Comic Book Guy, who tells Bart that he, too, has sold the soul (represented by a piece of paper with "Bart's Soul" scrawled on it). In fact, he tells Bart, he found a buyer who was "very interested in a little boy's soul." That very interested buyer turns out to be Marge - who reunites Bart with his soul, and reminds us of how awesome mothers can be.
