12 TV Comedies You Need To Be Watching

4. Key And Peele

Comedy Central

Comedy Central has really been knocking it out of the park lately, and in terms of sketch shows, there's no competing with Key and Peele.

Each episode of the series involves comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele doing a bit of standup, at which point the show launches into a related sketch. Some deal with pretty hilarious and on point issues of race relations in society, while others involve clever riffs on popular movie and TV tropes.

Some of their most well known sketches have been Obama's anger translator Luther, a substitute teacher, and a recurring sketch about ridiculous football names. One particularly excellent one recently was a riff on how insane Family Matters became in its later seasons, following a super pissed Reginald VelJohnson who's outraged that the series has become all about Steve Urkel's wacky antics.

Most sketch shows are pretty hit and miss, but with Key and Peele, the misses are few and far between. These two come up with some of the most creative ideas in comedy right now, and they know exactly when to end a sketch before it gets tiring. With an amazing lineup of recurring characters and concepts that rival anything coming out of Saturday Night Live these days, Key and Peele is home to some of the most unique comedy on TV right now.
