12 TV Reboots You Didn't Know Were Coming

10. Animaniacs

Some classics just never die. Yakko, Wakko and Dot's journey came to an end in 1998, but their influence on animation is still felt to this day. Though never edgy in a Ren & Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life sort of way, they were one of the first shows to push the envelope with meta techniques, funky camera direction and satirical pop culture references.

Though tame and relatively unambitious by today’s standards, Animaniacs left an impressive legacy. In 2020, they’ll look to pick up where they left off with a reboot.

The show followed the three cartoon siblings around the Warner Bros lot; the story of the show was that they were too weird to have a TV show. So it was a TV show about TV characters who didn’t have a TV show, and what they got up to since they weren’t on TV.

It didn’t feel nearly as weird watching it as it did explaining it.

After DuckTales enjoyed a successful relaunch and with Steven Spielberg returning as executive producer, there’s a lot of reasons to be excited for this one.
