12 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

11. Brave New World

Some of the most cutting-edge shows on TV are often those which are adapted from a beloved text and Brave New World sought to add its name to that list earlier this year. An adaptation of Aldous Huxley's revolutionary 1932 novel, the larger-than-life series was part of the launch of NBCUniversal's brand new streaming service Peacock - which debuted in July - and it was hoped that it would seduce viewers with its impressive visuals.

While there is no denying that the show accomplished that, it wasn't quite the compelling tale that its source material deserved. Granted, it's difficult for any live-action property to successfully adapt the endless possibilities that a novel can provide, and yet it wasn't the larger-than-life areas where Brave New World struggled, but the quiet, thought-provoking and philosophical ones.

The first season highlighted only some of its underlying potential but, unfortunately, before the writers got the chance to bring any of it to the forefront, Peacock made the decision to end it after just one nine-episode season - making the show its first ever cancellation.
