12 TV Shows That Were Cancelled Way Too Soon

3. Arrested Development

The story of the dysfunctional Bluth family was one of the smartest and sharpest sitcoms in recent years, packed full of meta-humour, elaborate gags, crazy plots, and a starry-cast including Jason Batemen and Michael Cera.

While it received widespread critical acclaim, the show never found an audience when it was on the air and was cancelled after three seasons. Its influence was clear on other great sitcoms that followed in the years to come, most notably Community (which has had its own struggles in keeping itself going), and it found a cult following on DVD.

That was enough to persuade Netflix to eventually bring the show back for a fourth season in 2013, with talk of a 5th ongoing, but it wasn€™t quite the same as if it€™d had the lifespan it deserved originally.
