12 TV Shows That Were Cancelled Way Too Soon

2. Freaks And Geeks

It seems crazy now to think that this show was cancelled after just one season, given the status of its creator and cast. Executive Producer Judd Apatow is one of the biggest names in Hollywood comedy, creator Paul Feig is going to be directing the next Ghostbusters movie, and the likes of James Franco, Jason Segel, and Seth Rogen don€™t need any introduction.

Back in 2000 though they weren€™t household names, and their TV show Freaks and Geeks was tragically short-lived. It was a great take on the high-school genre, following Lindsay Weir (Linda Cardellini) and her younger brother Sam (John Francis Daley) and their friends, who make up the titular freaks and geeks.

It felt like a more realistic take on school life, and was of course hilarious, but poor ratings meant that it was cancelled after just twelve episodes had aired. Fan campaigns led to the remaining six being broadcast, but there were no more after that. The cast and crew have had the last laugh by going on to much bigger things, but not necessarily better ones.
