12 TV Shows That Were Cancelled Way Too Soon

1. Firefly

The ultimate show when it comes to those whose life was cut devastatingly short, Fox basically made a total mess of Joss Whedon€™s Firefly.

They aired the show out of sequence, preferring a later, more action-fuelled episode to the actual pilot, which, y€™know, set up what the show was about and who the characters were. For some inexplicable reason ratings were low, and the show was cancelled after just 11 of the 14 episodes had been broadcast.

The Space-Western was full of the sort of whip-smart dialogue and well-written characters that made you care about them that Whedon is known for, led by the fantastic Nathan Fillion. Despite running for just one season, this stands as one of the finest pieces of work the Avengers director has ever done, one of the great single seasons in TV, and who knows just how good it could have become given the time it deserved. It did eventually get a film, Serenity, to tie things up, but most fans are never going to get over the fact there wasn't a season 2.
