USA Network

Nash Bridges originally aired on CBS for six seasons from 1996 until 2001, and it looks as if the series is set to return to television. The show, which starred Don Johnson and Cheech Marin as Inspectors for the San Francisco Police Department's Special Investigation Unit, has been tapped for a revival series.

USA Network announced the revival in July 2019 with Johnson set to reprise his role as the titular character, and he will also work as one of the two showrunners working on the project. USA ordered a two-hour special, which will hopefully catch enough attention for further development.

USA Network's plan isn't unheard of; the same has been done for shows like Battlestar Galactica, which earned a reboot following the success of a similar two-part, three-hour miniseries. If the Nash Bridges two-hour pilot ordered by USA Network can pull in stellar ratings, there's little doubt the network would opt to revive the show.

The special will revolve around Nash as he continues to work as the SFPD's SIU where he's been since the show went off the air. He will find himself working for a new boss in a city that's changed significantly since the turn of the century. Presently, there is no word as to whether or not Cheech Marin will return.
